Pennsylvania Crossbow Hunting

When most people think about Pennsylvania, they picture the signing of the Declaration of Independence or the Liberty Bell, but the people here at Horton think about one thing- crossbow hunting. Pennsylvania is covered in rolling hills and bountiful forests teeming with wildlife. The state’s most popular and numerous big game animal is white-tailed deer. Pennsylvania has a large variety of wildlife to offer, including black bear, elk, and plenty of small game.

Crossbow hunting is legal for all disabled hunters during Pennsylvania’s archery season. It is legal for all hunters to use a crossbow during rifle season for deer, including the regular two-week deer season, the early muzzleloader season and the late flintlock season. Also, in Wildlife Management Units (WMU's) 2B, 5C, & 5D crossbows are legal during any established deer season. Check out Pennsylvania’s hunting laws and regulations below.
