When it comes to crossbow hunting, it takes foot pounds of energy to deliver an arrow with enough punch to get the job done.

Horton field tests have determined the best kinetic energy ranges for effectively taking various game with crossbows. Any of Horton’s ™ bows with a draw weight of 125 pounds or more is capable of taking any animal on the North American Continent, but selecting the right crossbow for you depends on your own personal shooting preferences.

Horton ™ crossbows are available in draw weights of 125, 150, and 175 pounds.  It is easier to cock the 125 lb crossbows, but they do not provide the arrow speed of the 175 lb crossbows.
